The “Super Sport” option package of the Chevrolet vehicles was introduced for the very first time in 1961 when the company introduced model 1961 Impala. Soon this option package was also introduced in some other model offerings. The same package option was also introduced in 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 which was brought to market first time in 1964. The 1966 model of the Chevrolet Chevelle was truly on top in this category only because of awesomely designed body style.
